About Infinity Environmental

Infinity Environmental is an environmental consultancy based in Observatory, Cape Town. We deliver environmental impact assessments, water use licensing, heritage assessments, stakeholder engagement, water quality monitoring, and management planning services to clients across South Africa, from local governments to developers, infrastructure contractors, and industry. We are building our operations team to support a more structured model, and this role sits at the heart of our day-to-day financial administration.

The Opportunity

This is a junior and potentially part-time role reporting directly to the Business Manager. You will be the administrative and financial engine behind the firm's day-to-day operations, keeping project records accurate, invoices on track, and financial data clean and accessible across a busy and varied project portfolio. It suits someone who is organised, precise, and keen to develop within a professional consulting environment.

Role Description

Finance admin

  • Capturing and maintaining project financial data across 50–100 active projects
  • Processing invoices and tracking payment status
  • Following up on outstanding accounts and flagging billing delays
  • Maintaining records of variations and scope changes for billing purposes
  • Supporting monthly cashflow and financial reporting

 

Project admin

  • Setting up new projects in the firm's systems (codes, folders, documentation)
  • Maintaining accurate project records throughout the project lifecycle
  • Tracking milestone completion and supporting invoicing readiness
  • Assisting with timesheet and utilisation data

 

Operational support

  • Supporting the Business Manager with dashboard updates and reporting
  • Maintaining templates and document libraries
  • General administrative support to the operations function

 

What We're Looking For

  • A qualification in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial administration
  • 1–3 years of experience in a financial administration or bookkeeping role, ideally within professional services, consulting, or construction
  • Attention to detail and comfort working with numbers and systems on a daily basis
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or similar
