Notice of Environmental Authorisation for the Proposed Re-development of the Zeekoevlei and Rondevlei Weir Complex

Dear Registered Interested and Affected Party,

You are hereby notified that the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) has granted Environmental Authorisation and approved the Environmental Management Programme for the redevelopment of the Zeekoevlei and Rondevlei weir complex in the False Bay Nature Reserve, in terms of the National Environmental Management Act 107 of 1998 and the EIA Regulations, 2014 (GNR 326 of 2017)

The environmental authorisation is dated 18 March 2025 and was issued on 19 March 2025.

Appeals

You are reminded that an appeal may be lodged against this decision in terms of the National Appeal Regulations 2014 (as amended). A summary of the appeal process is provided in the Environmental Authorisation (page 2). Should you wish to appeal the decision, you must submit the appeal in writing to the Director of Appeals and Legal Review of DFFE and copies to the applicant, registered I&APs, organs of state with an interest in the matter, and the decision maker within 20 (twenty) calendar days from the date of this notification.
